Some Pewsey Carnival "Rock Day" photos, May 2004
Every year in Pewsey there's a Rock Day. I think this was originally organised as an antidote to Marlborough's Annual Jizz Jazz Festival... although, like so many other things on this site, I could be entirely mistaken....or just making it up.
Anyway..there's something like 15 pubs in and around the town and on the day there's a band playing somewhere from about 11am til 1am. For some bizarre reason we were asked to be the last band on of the day... in a nice big marquee in the Coopers Arms' field...
As you can see below, we spent the afternoon "rehearsing" in earnest... the result of which was a rather good performance and a top write-up in our local paper.
Unfortunately, due to some poncey "World Music Festival in Midsomer Norton where I'm playing the earth-fired pot and sun-dried llama ears" Steve Marshall was unable to attend and make everyone giggle with his antics on the theremin. Still...no matter. As it happened we managed to get the entire audience to fill in for him :)
Live photos of us by Mike Dymond ( Ta, Luvvy!). Garden and cake photos by me (apart from the one of me which was, presumably, taken by someone else.) ...oh ..and the 4 pics of Ivor's band were taken by me too.
